Aikman Design Offers Classic Web Design

Do you need to have a Web presence but don’t know where to start?
Do you want to refer clients to your online portfolio?
Don’t use a computer? No problem!

Aikman Design will work with you every step of the way - from basic design to choosing images and preparing them for the Web, creating the Web site itself (doing the technical stuff), and finally publishing your personalized Web site on the Internet.

When you make your Web site simple, with clean lines and easy navigation, everyone will be able to access it, even from their iPhone. Web sites are multi-page advertisements, accessible places for your most important information to be found: your product, contact info, directions and more.

Geraldine will create all the parts of your site, from editing images to publishing to the Web. Reasonable rates, personal customer service, no matter if it's a one page advertisement for your services or a multi-page gallery of your art.

Aikman Design is a great source for all sorts of problem-solving, too. Email or call and we'll talk about your site.

I design for individuals as well as for groups such as art guilds who are seeking a place where customers can view their art and see their schedule of upcoming shows.

TIP: Plan your site on plain white paper, held horizontally to represent a computer screen. Use post-it notes to represent various elements or pictures so you can easily move them around when planning out your site.

The web site at left is a sample I created to show off some key elements that are part of my Classic Web Design package. On the first page is a long banner photo that is animated - the words appear one at a time.

The site has a main page, a page showing off the portfolio, and another that lists upcoming shows. This is a prototype, and the beginning of a simple, informative site - just like the one I can create for you!

At left: Mother and daughter artists wanted their fine art portfolios to be available to clients worldwide. Their previous web sites were designed by a technician who created them with such advanced bells and whistles many clients couldn't even view the sites. Aikman Design stepped in, redesigned the sites and had them up within hours.

"I had clients calling to ask how to see my art and you solved my problem - fast! Thanks for your hard work." ~ Carla Koch

Email me and we can discuss the type of site that's best for you or your business. I have lots of ideas!

We designed Harmon's Seafood site from the ground up - photographed the products, designed all the banners, background repeat art, and more.

We also create new sell sheets for the company every few weeks to keep the advertising fresh, design labels and other product promotional material.

Maine artist Carol Gagnon needed a showplace for her art, with revisions and additions done on a regular basis. We taught her how to access the site and add the word "sold" to the captions as needed.

Her web site has a rotating picture on the home page, and gallery pages. The artist provided her own images and we enhanced and resized them for the web.

Egon Schiele Cosmetics has rotating images, direct-sell cosmetics page, news and links pages.

Banners and all product images were created or photographed by Aikman Design and prepared for the web. We also create trade show banners and posters.

We give the clients both publication-size and web-size images on a disk for future use.
